ExWHUemployee has revealed that West Ham United are not likely to spend big this winter, with a small January transfer budget being predicted.
During the summer, the Hammers spent pretty big as they brought in a number of high-profile signings. Indeed, the club spent well over £100m as players such as Lucas Paqueta, Gianluca Scamacca, Nayef Aguerd, Maxwel Cornet and Thilo Kehrer arrived.
And yet, the Premier League outfit didn’t exactly make much on player sales. Indeed, Issa Diop’s move to Fulham was the only transfer departure they made any money from.
With that in mind, it looks as though West Ham will have to tighten the purse strings over the winter months, so fans should not be expecting any major deals.
That is, at least, according to Ex, who explained as much on The West Ham Way podcast. He said: “I have been told that the budget is not going to be massive in January.
“There might be a bit if we sell [Craig] Dawson or if we sell [Harrison] Ashby, but the budget is not going to be great.
“It’s not going to be anywhere near what it was in the summer.”
