ExWHUemployee has reported that West Ham United defender Vladimir Coufal is not seemingly close to an exit this January, despite claims in foreign media.

According to a recent report from Sky Sports Germany, the Hammers right-back is of interest to Bayer Leverkusen, and a delegation from the Bundesliga club will supposedly travel to England to begin talks.

The article explains that Coufal has a contract with West Ham until 2023, which also includes a two-year extension option, so a decent transfer fee would be required to finalise any move.

However, in a new update on the situation, Ex wrote on The West Ham Way Patreon page that his sources at the club are ‘not aware of any transfer’ at this moment in time.

He explained: “Despite reports that Vladimir Coufal has had talks with a German team over a January move, West Ham are not aware of any transfer at this stage. Coufal’s contract is due to expire in the summer and a decision is yet to be made on whether it will be renewed.”
