Insider ExWHUemployee has revealed that West Ham United are not close to selling Declan Rice to their rivals despite growing rumours.

With the English midfielder shining on the international stage – representing the Three Lions at the 2022 World Cup – big clubs are expected to be keeping a close eye on his situation back home.

Indeed, Rice’s West Ham future does look to be in doubt at the moment. Indeed, Ex has confirmed that the club will listen to offers for the player in the summer.

However, this has led to some reporting that Chelsea, in particular, will be handed a big boost by this news. But when talking on The West Ham Way podcast, Ex explained that talk of this being close to happening is wide of the mark.

He said (0:37): “Someone just messaged me [about Rice being available in the summer] and said: is this true? So I just literally put: yes, unfortunately.

“And it’s gone absolutely viral, it’s all over Twitter, or been picked up by Chelsea sites, who seem to assume that means he’s going to be signing for them, which I would actually say isn’t the case. But each to their own.”
