TalkSPORT’s Gabriel Agbonlahor has urged Jarrod Bowen to improve his form amid West Ham United’s shocking start to the season.

The Hammers have only won four times in the Premier League, with their poor run of results coinciding with the shocking form shown by last season’s star man Bowen, who has got two goals and zero assists to his name in the top flight.

Bowen was being linked with moves to the likes of Arsenal over the summer, with West Ham reportedly slapping a £75m price tag on his head, which seemed fair based on last season’s performances – although this time around, it looks like a joke.

Agbonlahor certainly didn’t hide from the fact that Bowen and other attacking players needed to step up if West Ham want to start climbing up the table.

He said: “You’ve got to look at players and they’ve got to start performing, Paqueta they brought in needs to do more, Fornals and Lanzini when they get a chance.

Are you worried by Bowen's form?

Yes!

No!

“Bowen needs to be in better form, he won’t be getting in that England squad, he hasn’t done enough, Scamacca scored a few goals then he started doing flicks and started to have himself a bit, these players are letting him [Moyes] down and they’ve got to do more because they’ve got a good squad, West Ham.”

TIF Thoughts on Bowen’s form…

Agbonlahor was obviously speaking prior to Gareth Southgate announcing his World Cup squad and even then it looked clear Bowen wouldn’t be heading off to Qatar given his shocking form in front of goal this season.

West Ham United fans, who were these players sold to? Starting with Felipe Anderson

Bowen will obviously be gutted that this sort of form has come just before the World Cup because if it was being played over the summer he would’ve likely gone as he finished last season with 14 goals and nine assists in the league.

If Bowen can step up his form and start even just getting near the heights of last season then the Hammers will very likely start shooting up the league as his goals and assists could be invaluable for David Moyes.
