West Ham Fan TV’s Dan Lawless has urged the Hammers to sack David Moyes before he tries to sign Jesse Lingard amid recent transfer rumours.

West Ham were very much interested in Lingard over the summer when he became a free agent, but the midfielder turned them down in favour of a one-year contract at newly promoted Nottingham Forest.

The move certainly hasn’t worked out, with the midfielder having started just nine league games and yet to register his first goal involvement, which has led to reports suggesting Forest are now willing to sell him in January.

Lawless certainly doesn’t want Lingard back, and believes Moyes should be sacked before he can reunite with the midfielder.

Prior to the Carabao Cup clash against Blackburn Rovers, he said on Twitter: “Sack Moyes before he tries to bring him back.”

TIF Thoughts on Jesse Lingard and West Ham…

While Moyes may well feel that the signing of Lingard could help spark West Ham back into life this season, the fact that the midfielder has only scored two league goals since he completed his loan spell at the London Stadium should show how bad of an idea it would be to sign him.

Lingard is reportedly on £180,000 per week at Nottingham Forest, and for that sort of money, he should certainly be performing better than he has been this season, while he looks to have lost all the form and confidence he once had as a Hammer.

West Ham United fans, who were these players sold to? Starting with Felipe Anderson

Instead of thinking about bringing back a former fan favourite who seemingly turned them down for a bigger paycheck, Moyes should be focusing on getting the most out of his current crop of players and having a good relationship with them – something he seemingly doesn’t have with Said Benrahma.
