Tottenham Hotspur and Wales defender Ben Davies has praised his club teammate Harry Kane as the two Spurs stars prepare to face each other in the World Cup.

England have all but guaranteed qualification and can seal top spot in the group with a victory, whilst Wales have to win by three goals and hope for a draw between the USA and Iran to progress to the knockouts.

Speaking to talkSPORT, Davies praised the quality of Kane, who he is set to directly come up against as the two Home Nations face off in what promises to be a fiery encounter.

“I think Harry is one of the best strikers in the world, and I think his performance levels in the last…however many years has been top class,” Davies stated.

“There are not too many players better at putting the ball in the back of the net than him.”

TIF thoughts on Kane and Davies…

Davies is right to praise his Spurs teammate given his remarkable goalscoring records over the years, despite Kane failing to score in both his appearances in Qatar so far.

The England captain has scored 13 times in 22 appearances for his club this season and has amassed 261 goals in 408 games for the Lilywhites as per TransferMarkt.

Davies meanwhile, has been in good form under Antonio Conte this season, ranking in the top 6% of European centre-backs for shot-creating actions as per FBref, but he will need to be at his very best to give Wales any chance of successfully qualifying.
