Tottenham Hotspur may now feel hard done after seeing the footage of a questionable referee decision in their defeat on Wednesday night against Nottingham Forest.

Antonio Conte’s side saw their Carabao Cup hopes fall at the first hurdle at the City Ground after Forest cruised to a comfortable 2-0 victory over the Lilywhites.

It was another dismal display, with Football.london’s highest-rated Spurs player being their goalkeeper, Fraser Forster, who was certainly made to work during the 90 minutes.

Starting with the club's £60m summer signing, which of these players could Richarlison be facing?

Spurs will want to forget this performance quickly having only managed two shots on the Forest goal throughout the game, however, they may feel they should have been awarded a penalty.

Richarlison made his return from injury in the second half and found himself firmly in the mix of the action after seemingly being wiped out by Forest goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey.

TIF Thoughts on the challenge…

The Forest goalkeeper does not appear to make any contact with the ball and wipes Richarlison out in doing so, so we can see why the Brazilian may feel hard done by.

However, there may also be question marks as to whether Richarlison was onside or offside in the lead-up to the incident, with a number of players trying to push up following the half-cleared corner kick.

But in a game where Spurs struggled once again to get anything going in an attacking sense, an opportunity from the spot would definitely have been welcomed by the north London side.
