Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Weston McKennie could be set for a January transfer amid links to Tottenham Hotspur.

The United States international has long been linked with a move to Tottenham ever since Fabio Paratici joined the club, with the Italian having been the man who signed McKennie for Juventus back in 2020.

Therefore, his name has never been far away from Spurs, but given his performances at the World Cup and the current mess that has engulfed Juventus on and off the pitch, McKennie could now finally leave the Old Lady.

Romano has admitted on the House of Champions YouTube channel that this January could be Mckennie’s time to leave Serie A.

He said: “For players who could leave Juventus, I would keep an eye on Weston McKennie, who is doing well at the World Cup and has always been linked with Tottenham or with Premier League clubs.

“At the moment, there are no negotiations ongoing with Tottenham, but Premier League clubs are always keeping an eye on McKennie.”

TIF Thoughts on Spurs’ interest in McKennie…

Spurs don’t necessarily need a midfielder as they have a plethora of options at present, but having someone as experienced as McKennie – who is still relatively young and capable of playing in multiple positions through the middle – could be very valuable.

Starting with the club's £60m summer signing, which of these players could Richarlison be facing?

It has been reported that McKennie has a £25m price tag on his head, which could represent a potential major coup for Spurs, especially if he turned out to be like their last two Juventus signings in Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski.

McKennie once again shone at the World Cup for the USA as they sealed their spot in the knockout rounds and even got the assist for Christian Pulisic’s winning goal against Iran, showing he can do the business in the final third at the top level.
