Tottenham Hotspur are interested in Atalanta midfielder Ruslan Malinovskyi going into the January transfer window.

The Lilywhites were linked with a move the Ukrainian over the summer, and speaking on Chris Cowlin’s YouTube channel, journalist Ryan Taylor thinks that interest has carried over into January.

Spurs have made a bright start in front of goal in the Premier League with the third-most scored (31), only behind Arsenal and Manchester City.

Starting with the club's £60m summer signing, which of these players could Richarlison be facing?

However, there has been a heavy reliance on Harry Kane, with Son Heung-min failing to hit his usual heights and injury issues to the likes of Dejan Kulusevski and Richarlison.

But it seems as if Spurs are looking to address their creative spark in January, with Taylor believing the north London side are eyeing up a move for the Ukrainian, who now has just a matter of months left on his deal:

He said: “That creative midfielder – if there is a player that is out there that is available, I know Ruslan Malinovskyi from Atalanta is one that’s been looked at, for example, that’s the kind of player that Spurs would be interested in, certainly Conte.”

TIF Thoughts on Taylor’s comments…

It will be interesting to see whether Fabio Paratici can pull off another January window masterclass following the signings of Rodrigo Bentancur and Kulusevski earlier this year.

It seems as if Serie A is a market in which the former Juventus sporting director is comfortable operating in, and therefore, Spurs fans will likely trust his judgement in eyeing up Malinovskyi.

Meanwhile, it looks as though the Ukrainian has already been sending some hints on Twitter that Spurs are on his mind, having previously liked tweets involving the north London side.

Although the 29-year-old’s numbers do not look overly impressive so far this season, given his current contract situation, it is a deal that would not likely provide much risk for the Lilywhites.
