Tottenham Hotspur defender Davinson Sanchez has come under criticism for his recent form, with Jamie O’Hara labelling him as one of Spurs’ ‘worst players’.

Speaking to TalkSport, O’Hara was discussing the Spurs backline and where their issues are at present.

Following the Lilywhites’ comeback victory over Leeds United, he was critical of Sanchez – and the stats O’Hara’s stance. The 26-year-old has made 10 appearances this season and has only kept two clean sheets. In addition, he’s given away one penalty so far this season.

The Tottenham defence as a whole has been rather shaky this term. While Sanchez is not entirely to blame, they’ve conceded 21 goals this season, the 10th-worst of any team in the league – perhaps not good enough for a team aiming to qualify for the Champions League again next season.

After a few seasons with Spurs, O’Hara has no idea how he’s still there, stating: “Davinson Sanchez has been at club now for three, four seasons. I don’t know how he’s still in a Tottenham shirt. I mean, he’s one of the worst players I’ve seen there.”

TIF Thoughts on Jamie O’Hara’s comments about Sanchez…

We believe it’s time for Spurs to part ways with Sanchez, as he’s simply not good enough. He joined the club from Ajax back in the summer of 2017, a club record at the time.

When you take that into consideration and see that he’s drawing this kind of criticism, that’s a massive concern. The club have brought in other centre-backs in that time since including Joe Rodon and Cristian Romero, suggesting they don’t have faith in him. And yet, he is still utilised by Antonio Conte.

It’s probably best that Spurs look to cash in on him. They likely won’t make any profit, but we feel it’s highly unlikely he’s going to improve given how long he’s been at the club.
