Ade Oladipo has backed Harry Kane to be the flop of the World Cup, despite his great form this season for Tottenham Hotspur.

Kane has perhaps flown under the radar this season for his form in front of goal for Spurs despite netting 12 goals in 15 league appearances, as the form of Erling Haaland has somewhat dwarfed his achievements.

Therefore, it may not be a surprise to see Oladipo believe Kane will flop at this tournament for England, even though he finished as the Golden Boot winner at the last World Cup when he netted six times.

When Oladipo was asked on the Men’s Room podcast for which team and player were his potential flops of the tournament, he named England and Kane as the ones to watch for the unwanted tags.

He said: “England and Kane [to] flop.

“I’m sorry, flop of the tournament, Harry Kane and England. Conte said he’s knackered.”

TIF Thoughts on Kane flopping…

It is a very outlandish claim for Oladipo to make as Kane has been in scintillating form for Spurs this season and has a great record for England, having netted 51 goals in 75 appearances as well as leading them to a EURO final last summer.

How well do you know where these Spurs signings came from? Take our quiz to find out! Firstly, where did Dimitar Berbatov arrive from?

This is especially interesting given what is going on with other countries such as Portugal and the Cristiano Ronaldo fiasco that appears to have engulfed him and his national side.

We think Kane could thrive off of people thinking both he and England are going to do poorly, and that sort of motivation could be exactly what the striker needs to finally get over the line and lift a trophy.
