Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte has issued a potential hint at being open to putting pen to paper on a new deal in north London.

This has been highlighted by Spurs reporter Alasdair Gold, who has been speaking on his YouTube channel following the Lilywhites’ defeat at the weekend.

Spurs slipped down to fourth spot in the Premier League table on Sunday and were booed off by sections of the crowd at half-time against Liverpool.

Starting with the club's £60m summer signing, which of these players could Richarlison be facing?

But Conte remained upbeat after the game and spoke about the assurances he can provide the fans, as he hinted at being given the time and patience by everyone at the club.

And Gold believes this was a sign of Conte being willing to commit his future to Spurs – to which he ran by some of his sources at the club.

He said: “I’ve checked with a few people in the club, just to check I was reading this right. And they agreed – he is kind of suggesting that if the fans back him and his team, and give him a reason to want to stick around, he will do so.

“But if they are showing that they don’t really want what’s happening, then he might head off into the sunset.”

TIF Thoughts on Alasdair Gold’s Conte comments…

There have been a lot of question marks over the future of the Italian in north London, with speculation emerging about a potential return to Juventus.

However, it now feels like the perfect opportunity for Conte to put the rumours to bed during the upcoming World Cup break, which feels like the best chance to discuss his future with the board.

Conte has already got Spurs into the last 16 of the Champions League and an almost-certain top-four spot by Christmas. It has not been pretty at times this season, but with their injury issues, we think the Spurs fans should be demanding a new Conte deal.

I think Conte will stay otherwise I would not be giving him money to spend on players in January. yes the football is not necessary pretty at times but we start getting results and win something this season then there won’t be any complaints from me. Tottenham fans sometimes are too fickle and impatient to see the progress and in one year how Conte has totally turned this club around. I suggest the fans stop boring all the time and get behind the team and Conti.
