John Wenham has backed Tottenham Hotspur to make additions to their U21 side in January.
The Lilywhite Rose enthusiast is confident that the director of Fabio Paratici will look to invest in the academy side given their struggles so far this season.
Spurs’ U21 team are currently bottom of Premier League 2 and in danger of being relegated from the division.
They are yet to win any of their 13 fixtures and went into the mid-season break off the back of successive defeats.
Their campaign resumes on January 8th when they take on Liverpool who are currently second in the standings but Wenham is expecting investment in the team once the market reopens.
He told Football Insider:
“This Tottenham Under-21 team is going to undergo a mass transformation in time for their next fixture.
“They now haven’t got a game until the middle of January. I wouldn’t be surprised to see two or three players added to that squad ahead of that game.
“We are going to see changes because the team is now bottom of their PL2 division after a loss against West Ham, who were bottom before that game.
“We missed a penalty and could have got something from that game so it’s another really disappointing one. We played well but things just aren’t falling for us.
“I think there will be changes. There is no chance Paratici lets that team get relegated.”

Tottenham spent around £120m in the summer but it was all centered around bolstering their first-team squad.
You would expect that Antonio Conte will be seeking further signings in January in order to contend with the volume of games both domestically and in Europe.
It would be interesting to see how that impacts the recruitment of the rungs further down the ladder with the academy seemingly in need of enhancement.
