Tottenham Hotspur’s Richarlison was almost the victim of a reckless training ground tackle during his preparations for the World Cup.

The forward is currently out in Qatar with the rest of the Brazil squad as they prepare for the tournament’s kick-off.

The Selecao are the favourites for the tournament and will kick off Group G on Thursday evening against Serbia.

Despite being out for close to a month with a calf injury of late, Richarlison was selected to represent his country, but he could very well have been ruled out of the tournament.

As posted on the Football Daily’s Twitter account during a rondo session, the Spurs ace was almost clattered by Casemiro.

Although the two compatriots seemed to have a laugh afterwards, it could have been quite a serious issue.

The 25-year-old has been involved in five goals since his switch to north London in the summer, but he’s been in even more impressive form at international level of late.

The 38-cap ace scored six times during eight appearances in qualifying for the upcoming competition.

The £60m summer signing has also netted seven goals in his last six games for Brazil and he will be a major part of their hopes of clinching a sixth triumph.

Antonio Conte, meanwhile, will be hoping that Richarlison returns to N17 unscathed and certainly not taken out by one of his teammates.
