Journalist Lee Ryder has insisted that he wouldn’t swap Miguel Almiron for any other Premier League player, while also claiming the Newcastle United ace is worth £100m.

Almiron has been one of the stories of the season in the Premier League, going from a misfiring winger with just five goals in his last two league campaigns to one of the most deadly players out wide.

The Paraguay international recently picked up the Player and Goal of the Month awards for October, which were certainly deserved for his heroics in front of goal for the Magpies, and now Ryder believes he has a monster price tag on his head.

His form this season has been so good, that Ryder has claimed on the Everything is Black and White podcast he wouldn’t swap Almiron for any other player in the league.

Is Almiron worth £100 million?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

“Even if you go back to the summer, I think Newcastle were looking at, possibly, players in his position. Well, you wouldn’t swap him now for anybody in the Premier League, at any price. Save your money, because you’ve already got a £100m player on your hands at the moment, in my opinion.”

TIF Thoughts on Miguel Almiron…

While the idea of Almiron being a £100m player based on a few months is quite an outlandish claim from Ryder, it does indeed show how much of an impact he has made on this Newcastle side.

How well do you remember Newcastle's January transfer window? An easy one to start with: where did Newcastle sign Bruno Guimaraes from?

Probably not even Almiron himself could’ve predicted this sort of turnaround, with the winger just a goal shy of his total for league strikes before the start of the season, and the fact he was tipped for a summer exit makes this season even more amazing for the attacker.

While Ryder has put this bold price tag on Almiron’s head, he’s also right that Eddie Howe wouldn’t likely swap him for anyone given the work he also brings off the ball, with the winger ranking amongst the very best when it comes to pressing the ball.
