Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes has shown his love for teammate Fabian Schar after being spotted with his shirt after their recent World Cup clash.

While the pair have been impressing in the Premier League of late, with the Magpies sitting third in the division going into the winter break, they met on the global stage as Brazil took on Switzerland.

Indeed, Guimaraes and co came out on top in the second round of Group G games, with the Selecao winning 1-0 thanks to a fine goal from Casemiro.

The Toon midfielder came off the bench to make a positive impact, and while Schar failed to get any minutes, the two Newcastle men still swapped shirts after the game.

Indeed, in an image shared on social media, Guimaraes was spotted holding his Newcastle teammate’s top while celebrating the win in front of the Brazil fans.

TIF Thoughts on Bruno Guimaraes and Newcastle United…

Whilst he is a regular for Newcastle back in England, having started all 12 league games he’s been fit to play in this season, Guimaraes has had to settle for a spot on the bench with Brazil.

Indeed, he didn’t even play in the first game against Serbia, but managed to get just over 30 minutes of action on Monday as he made his World Cup debut.

It’s been a similar story for Schar, who has played 14 times in the Premier League this term without losing, though he has yet to play for his country in Qatar.

Regardless of that, Toon fans will be delighted to see their players representing the club on the biggest stage while still showing their camaraderie for one another, as displayed with this recent interaction.
