Emil Krafth has handed Eddie Howe a major boost as the Newcastle United ace has been spotted back in the gym.
It was only a few months ago that Krafth was dealt a major blow as he suffered a knee injury which ruled him out for several months, but he could well be ahead of schedule given he’s now back working out in the club’s gym.
Krafth was proving himself to be a solid deputy to Kieran Trippier last season and even started a lot of games last campaign when the England international was out of the side for a prolonged period of time. Howe has spoken highly of the defender since joining the club, labelling him as ‘very, very good’ last season.
The Sweden international could earn himself a spot in Howe’s Newcastle squad during the second half of the season if he can fast-track his return and keep working hard in the gym, as he’s already doing:
Who is the better right back for Newcastle?
TIF Thoughts on Krafth’s return…
Recovering from a serious knee injury is a long and difficult process for any player, so Krafth will likely still have a long road ahead of him, but for him to be back in the gym after just a few months is an encouraging sign.
Krafth will be hopeful of regaining his spot back in the squad as deputy to Trippier when he returns, especially after seeing Javier Manquillo put in a poor 5/10 performance last night against Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup.
It just goes to show the commitment and desire to get back to playing that Karfth has, as well as the spirit and determination Eddie Howe has brought to the club that players are pushing themselves to always achieve their best and be available for the club.
