Newcastle United’s Callum Wilson recently took to his Instagram story, the photo will have plenty of Toon fans excited. It shows the forward alongside an England teammate who has been linked with the club.

The player in question is Leicester City’s James Maddison. In the story, Wilson shares a photo and adds a handshake and love heart emoji to the photo that Maddison had put on his initial story.

The caption put up by the Leicester midfielder highlighted that both players were from Coventry and had made it to the World Cup stage with England.

There have been reports that the Magpies want to try and sign Maddison from the Foxes. So, many Newcastle fans will be excited to see that Wilson and their potential future signing are bonding at World Cup duty.

Here’s the photo in question that the Toon forward shared on his story:

TIF’s view on Wilson’s social media story…

We believe that this definitely doesn’t confirm anything either way when it comes to Maddison moving to Tyneside. Clearly the two players do have a bond, considering they both grew up in the same area.

However, there’s a definite chance that Maddison has spoken to Wilson about Newcastle, or maybe the striker has tried to convince the 26-year-old to join him at Eddie Howe’s side. This is something that would surely excite PIF, with him ‘allegedly’ being their top target.

This season, the Foxes’ man has been outstanding for them. He has 11 goal contributions in just 13 games. Furthermore, he’s Leicester’s highest rated player on Sofascore, with a rating of 7.52.

So, there’s no doubt that Maddison would be a great addition for Newcastle. He’s somewhat versatile too, the England international can operate as an attacking midfielder, or play out wide.

Giving Magpies boss Eddie Howe a couple of options on where to play him should he join the club.

Dear, dear. You’re going to have to do better than that. If the Saudis want Maddison in January they are going to have to offer silly money. Bidding would have to start at around £80m
