Leeds United’s Tyler Adams has been speaking to the media ahead of the USA’s clash with England at the World Cup.

The American captain and his teammates will face off against the Three Lions on Friday evening and has said that playing in the Premier League certainly helps when it comes to playing for his country.

Adams has started 13 of  Leeds’ 14 Premier League games prior to the mid-season break and will be looking to upset the odds on matchday two of Group B in Doha.

Speaking ahead of the clash the 23-year-old reminded those at the press conference that he plays for the west Yorkshire club and discussed the relentlessness at which they play.

As transcribed by journalist Adam Pope he said:

“I play for Leeds United. Have you seen the way we play? One of the qualities of our team is our pressing, guys can get around the ball & cover ground. We play in an aggressive way.”

TIF Thoughts on Adams and Leeds…

Would you like to see Tyler Adams as captain?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

The £57k-per-week dynamo arrived at Elland Rod for £20m and has quickly picked up the methods that Jesse Marsch has been laying down with his combative approach.

According to WhoScored, he ranks first among players at Leeds who have played more than one game for tackles per 90 minutes (4) and third for dribbles while also placing top among midfielders for interceptions.

He will be tasked with stifling the likes of Jude Bellingham, Mason Mount and company around the middle third for the States on Friday evening and as Leeds fans will know he definitely won’t be afraid to put a foot in and lead by example.
