Leeds United’s Rasmus Kristensen was in action at the World Cup on Tuesday but his performance was less than impressive.

Kristensen played the full 90 minutes for Denmark as they got their tournament underway against Tunisia.

However, the Danes were matched by a tireless north African side intent on taking something from the game and they deservedly did so.

With France and Australia making up the rest of the group it’s an opportunity missed for the Leeds full-back and his compatriots.

Writing for The Independent Alex Pattle gave the 25-year-old a 5/10 match rating and justified it with the following comment:

‘The space he vacated by surging up the right flank was exploited by Tunisia at times, and that space wasn’t worth Kristensen’s lack of end product.’

TIF Thoughts on Kristensen’s display…

Have you been impressed by Kristensen so far?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

The £10m summer arrival started all but two of Leeds’ opening 14 Premier League games this term and has become his country’s first-choice right-back in recent months.

But he wasn’t at his buccaneering best against Tunisia.

The £43k-per-week brute made a joint-team-high four tackles on the day as well as one clearance and one interception but he was dribbled past twice and won just 50% of his ground duels (SofaScore).

The former RB Salzburg man lost possession 17 times and failed to find a teammate with any of his three crosses.

With France to come next on Saturday, it isn’t about to become any easier for Kristensen and he will certainly need to be on top of his game as well as the rest of the Danish side if they are to come from that fixture with anything.
