Former footballer turned pundit Adrian Clarke has criticised Leeds United defender Robin Koch for one of the “lamest” tackles he has ever seen as the club fell to defeat on Saturday.
The Whites ultimately walked away with nothing despite taking the lead three times at the weekend.
Jesse Marsch’s side went into the final 15 minutes against Tottenham Hotspur 3-2 in front but conceded two goals in as many minutes to relinquish any share of the spoils.
It came after back-to-back league wins for the West Yorkshire club, with the side now 15th heading into the mid-season break.
However, things might have been even better had Koch managed to commit to a challenge (2:33) on Dejan Kulusevski before he set up Spurs’ winner.
Speaking on the TalkSport GameDay podcast, Clarke said: “I think Kulusevski was the main man here, wasn’t he?
“I mean, that assist for the last goal, I thought was brilliant. Not happy with Robin Koch’s contribution towards that.
“That was one of the lamest attempts at a tackle I’ve seen in a long time.”

Given that Kulusevski was travelling at speed inside the Leeds penalty area, you could understand Koch’s reluctance to go steaming in on the Swedish winger.
However, there is no denying that the German could have done more to prevent the cutback.
The centre-back made a team-high three interceptions as well as four clearances on a busy day in defence for Marsch’s men.
However, he walked away with a meagre 6.3 Sofascore match rating, and having been left out by his country for the World Cup, the 26-year-old will have time to reflect on his performances during the first chunk of the campaign, with it clear that Leeds still have issues to resolve.
