Former Premier League full-back Alan Hutton believes that Jack Harrison’s head could be turned, leaving his Leeds United future in doubt.

During the summer, Leeds ‘swiftly’ rejected a £25m bid for the left winger.

The Whites reportedly placed a £35m price tag on his head with Newcastle United keen on Harrison’s services, but the Magpies were unwilling to meet those demands despite showing an interest in the 26-year-old.

Football Insider previously reported that the Elland Road outfit were working to extend the £60k-per-week ace’s current deal which expires at the end of next season, but speaking to the same outlet, Hutton has suggested that he could have his sights set elsewhere.

Will Harrison sign a new contract?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

He said: “I think if Newcastle come calling, somewhere that you can see what they are doing, they are trying to build something, you would definitely want to be a part of that.

“I think from a Leeds point of view, they are still in a position that they are on the edge. I do not think that they would want to get rid of a player like that, even though [Crysencio] Summerville has come in and done really well.

“I think it is healthy to have that competition, to have more than one player available for the position. When you are used to playing week in and week out and then you lose your spot, the only thing you want to do is get back playing.

“So it is probably something that he will be thinking about.”

First up, which of these World Cup debutants could Leeds go back in for this winter?

Only Raphinha scored more times than the former Manchester City ace last season, but it has been an indifferent campaign for the former England U21 international this time around.

After weighing in with one goal and three assists in his first three Premier League games, he has since gone 11 games without registering a goal contribution.

He had been shifted over to the right in the weeks leading up to the World Cup break amid Crysencio Summerville’s flourishing performances, but perhaps seeing the Toon in third place and on course for a fantastic finish, Harrison may look to force an exit if they come calling again.
