Liverpool: Fabrizio Romano drops major Jurgen Klopp update

|

Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool are still very happy with each other behind the scenes.

Some sections of the media have started to discuss the future of Jurgen Klopp given how poorly Liverpool have started this season and how many points they are currently behind the league leaders as well as the race for the top four.

However, considering the turnaround Klopp has overseen during his time at Anfield, it would be sensational for the Liverpool board to even be thinking about sacking the German, and it is perhaps equally as crazy for the Reds boss to contemplate resigning given what he’s created on Merseyside.

And in a recent update, Romano has claimed on his YouTube channel that everyone is happy with Klopp at Liverpool behind the scenes.

He said: “What I can tell you is that from what I’m told, behind the scenes, the relationship is still very good between Klopp and the owners; between Klopp and the board.

“He thinks that Liverpool will need something important in the market in 2023. They had, of course, Darwin Nunez and other players this summer, but a top midfielder will be a priority for Liverpool in 2023. They dream of Jude Bellingham, they are in the race for Jude Bellingham, but there are also other important, top clubs in England and Spain [interested].”

TIF Thoughts on Klopp’s position at Liverpool…

Perhaps if it was February or March and Liverpool were still lingering around mid-table, Klopp and the Reds may think a split would be best for both sides, however, it’s still very early in the season.

Liverpool also managed to qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League recently with relative ease aside from a heavy defeat in Napoli, so it could be argued that their league form is largely an anomaly and that Klopp could very well turn it around sooner rather than later.

Klopp has clearly told the board that they need a new midfielder, while talk of Jude Bellingham joining is rife, but he will certainly cost a lot of money, so it will be a test for the owners if they wish to splash out potentially over £100m on one player to keep the manager happy.
