Liverpool: Club target Aaronson puts in ‘superb’ display

|

Liverpool target Brenden Aaronson was praised for his ‘superb’ substitute cameo in the USA’s draw with Wales.

Gareth Bale’s late equaliser for Wales meant that it finished 1-1, but the Leeds United man was praised for the brief 24 minutes he was on the pitch. CBS Sports writer, Roger Gonzalez, argued that the player deserved more time on the pitch than the minutes he was given.

USMNT insider, Tom Bogert reported that the manager, Gregg Berhalter, wouldn’t be surprised if Reds manager Jurgen Klopp was interested in signing Aaronson.

The American has impressed since he joined Leeds from Red Bull Salzburg last summer. In particular his performances against Leicester City and Fulham have stood out

Here’s what Gonzalez had to say about Aaronson’s display, ‘Rating 7

‘Just adds a bit of dynamic ability. His turns into space are superb, and he gave this team some juice it couldn’t capitalize on. He probably should have gotten more than 24 minutes.’

TIF’s view on Gonzales’ comments…

We believe that Brenden Aaronson has made an early World Cup statement to Jurgen Klopp. To catch the eye like that in only 24 minutes shows the impact he can have.

The Reds are in need of more options that can play in attacking midfield. The 22-year-old is certainly someone who can play there and also. out wide on the left if need be.

England will be the USA’s next opponents. Aaronson has certainly made a case to start from his performance against Wales. Furthermore, the lights will be on him as millions of England fans will be watching.

This could be the perfect opportunity to make another big statement in the World Cup. After thumping Iran 6-2, a USMNT victory over the Three Lions would definitely be a surprise, based on the FIFA Rankings.

Nobody from Liverpool has said that he is a target. Even if he was they would have to pay a mint to get him. Lazy journalism. Somebody in the US said, in his view, that Aaronson was a player Klopp would like and then the hacks put two and two together and make five. Try writing news and not fourth party conjecture. Hey, you may even like it
