Leeds United youngster Wilfried Gnonto has been hailed as ‘absolutely ludicrous’ for his performance in the Whites’ turbulent victory at the weekend.

This has been suggested by journalist Dean Jones, who has been speaking about the young Italian on the latest episode of Chasing Green Arrows.

It was a day of ups and downs for Jesse Marsch’s men, who snatched all three points late on against Bournemouth to see them climb up to 12th spot in the Premier League table.

First up, which of these World Cup debutants could Leeds go back in for this winter?

Gnonto came on at half-time with the Whites 3-1 down and had a huge impact, with the 18-year-old providing the assist for the winning goal.

And in just his second Premier League appearance, Jones has hailed the youngster’s display after he played a huge role in the second-half comeback.

He said: “The other thing I just want to shoutout is a Leeds player who has caught my eye. Wilfried Gnonto is ridiculous.

“They play against Tottenham this week and that’s the only thing that I think is going to prevent him from getting his first start in the Premier League. Both times he has come on, he has been absolutely ludicrous.”

TIF Thoughts on Jones’ comments…

Gnonto made a huge splash on Saturday despite having just 20 touches of the ball. He was able to provide three key passes and even contributed defensively with two tackles (via SofaScore).

Jones did suggest that because Leeds are playing Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend, it could prevent Marsch from selecting him for the starting XI.

However, Spurs have not been good at all defensively in recent weeks, having conceded twice in each of their last four Premier League games, so we feel this feels could even be the perfect opportunity to start him.
