Leeds United director of football Victor Orta has been slammed following a recent video to emerge from their win at Elland Road on Saturday.

Presenter and YouTuber Conor McGilligan took to Twitter on Sunday to share his frustrations with the Spaniard for his actions in the stands.

It was certainly a cauldron of emotions at Elland Road on Saturday as an almost-certain defeat at home to Bournemouth was transformed into three huge points.

Crysencio Summerville came to the rescue again to secure the win, however, it has been apparent that there have been some frustrations in recent weeks, with some fans singing “sack the board” during the defeat to Fulham a fortnight ago.

First up, which of these World Cup debutants could Leeds go back in for this winter?

And in response to the crowd’s prior frustrations, Orta’s emotions clearly got the better of him as he hit out against some of the fans, indicating they should remain quiet.

“The front on this guy is absolutely insane,” tweeted McGilligan in response to the video.

TIF Thoughts on McGilligan’s comments…

We have to agree with McGilligan. Regardless of how Orta actually feels, as someone who has such a senior role at the club, he simply cannot allow his emotions to get the better of him in this way.

For a club like Leeds – who may well still struggle against the drop this season – having the fans onside feels like it could be a huge advantage for when teams come to Elland Road.

However, actions like this will not help Orta’s case for harmony between the board and the fans, and as seen in McGilligan’s response, it clearly did not go down well.

Since the footage emerged, Orta has released a statement sharing his apologies. He said: “I would like to say sorry for my reaction after the game yesterday. I don’t want to make excuses, but in the end, I am human.”
