Phil Hay has claimed that Leeds United are reportedly valued at around £500 million amidst takeover talk.
Over the last few days, rumours and reports have started to emerge about the 49ers and how they are seemingly now ready to close out their deal of finally take control of Leeds United on a majority basis.
The American group have held a minority stake in the club for a few years now and despite the club’s struggles both last season and this campaign, The Times reports that they are now set to complete the monster takeover of Leeds.
Hay has added further details on The Phil Hay Show about the potential takeover by claiming the club will reportedly be valued and cost the 49ers £500 million.
(20:00) “Just to recap and this goes back to the story we did almost 12 months ago about the option the 49ers enterprises hold which is to buy the club from Radrizzani before 2024 for a sum, we were told at the time that the agreed price was £475 million, although when we wrote it that number was disputed somewhat.

“So I think to be a little bit more vague, you would say Leeds are valued in the region of half a billion pounds, which would certainly seem about right.”
TIF Thoughts on Leeds’ potential takeover…
There appears to be ever-growing tension amongst the Leeds supporters and the club’s hierarchy including Andrea Radrizanni, who tweeted out about a signing that never ended up happening during the summer and Victor Orta who appeared to mock the Leeds fans during the club’s win against Bournemouth.
However, fans won’t be getting too excited and carried away about this potential takeover given how long it’s seemingly been in the works and never actually ended up materialising, although it certainly appears to be moving in the right direction.
For Leeds to be valued at £500 million is a huge asking price from Radrizanni, especially when their Premier League rivals Newcastle United were sold only last year for £300 million, and their stadium requires a lot less work to it than Elland Road, which will likely impact the price.
