Conor McGilligan has claimed that he expects Leeds United to sell young right-back Cody Drameh in the near future amid transfer interest.

While domestic football breaks for the duration of the 2022 World Cup, those working behind the scenes at Premier League clubs will be planning for the future.

If the latest rumours are to be believed, it looks as though Leeds are hoping to sign a new fullback in the winter with Jesus Vazquez linked with a possible transfer (via Sports Witness).

However, while one defender may come in, another may be set to go out. Indeed, trusted journalist Fabrizio Romano recently claimed that many club are keen on signing Drameh in January.

While speaking about the player on the One Leeds Fan Channel, McGilligan said (4:34): “I think from my perspective, Leeds are going to let Cody Drameh go.

“He wasn’t favoured under Marcelo Bielsa. I think it’s clear that he’s not favoured either on the Jesse Marsch, and I think you’ve got these clubs who are looking at him at the minute – and maybe are willing to put in 10 million quid, I don’t know, or Cody Drameh – I think that is something Leeds are going to exercise.

“Because if he’s third in the line for two coaches then they’re clearly not fans of him.”

With that calibre of football club listed, it wouldn’t be a shock if a fee in the region of £10m was enough to tempt Leeds into a sale – especially if he is viewed merely as a third-choice option.
Certainly looks as though there are big clouds of doubt hanging over Drameh’s future.

Don’t quite understand why we pay top money for Firpo who has been a big disappointment up to now yet we let Leif Davis go whose been voted player of the month at Ipswich for the last two months and now we’re considering letting go of Drameh who won player of the year at Cardiff on a half season loan. Looks a good player to me and don’t think we needed to spend on Kristensen who I’m not won over by yet. Full backs don’t seem to be Victor’s strength when scouting, I think if it was left to Orta we’d have Meslier and 11 wingers on the pitch every week.
