Journalist James Marshment has claimed that some Tottenham Hotspur fans are now fearing Leeds United ahead of their upcoming league clash.

In rather spectacular fashion, the Whites have managed to change their form and fortunes of late. Indeed, it was not long ago when they were on a winless streak of eight games.

Since then, however, Leeds have managed to beat Liverpool at Anfield and then come back from two goals behind to defeat Bournemouth 4-3 at Elland Road.

Next up, they face Tottenham Hotspur and will likely go into the game as underdogs given that Spurs are fourth in the league and Jesse Marsch’s men are 12th.

Despite that, according to Marshment, Tottenham fans are actually rather worried about their upcoming home game.

Indeed, he wrote on Twitter: “My Spurs supporting mate (who is admittedly very negative about his side) is convinced Leeds’ energy will be far too much for them… He fancies our chances too!”

TIF thoughts on Leeds United…

Marshment’s tweet was in fact a reply to Leeds presenter Joe Wainman, who said he was feeling ‘quite bullish’ about the game and warned that Spurs would have to be on it during the first half or else the Whites could take control.

Tottenham have certainly struggled during the first 45 minutes of games this season and trailed by two goals going into the break in their past two home games against Newcastle United and most recently Liverpool.

With that in mind, if the Whites can start strong, they may be able to blow Spurs away. Their recent wins against Liverpool and Bournemouth should certainly see them arrive at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with plenty of confidence, too.

However, Spurs did trail by two goals against the Cherries back in late October and still managed to come back and win that game, so it will take more than just one good half if Marsch’s men want to claim all three points.
