Journalist Stu Holden has stated that Leeds United man, Tyler Adams will end up playing for a ‘top level Champions League team’, via his Twitter account.

Adams played for the USMNT in their second World Cup group-stage match against England. So far the Leeds midfielder has averaged 3.5 tackles per game and 1.5 interceptions per game at the tournament.

His passing throughout this tournament has been very consistent for his nation. Adams has an 89% pass accuracy across his two games for the U.S. so far.

He joined the Whites in the summer from RB Leipzig, costing around £20 million. He’s been a tough-tackling asset for Jesse Marsch’s side, averaging four tackles per game in the Premier League.

Here’s what Holden had to say on social media about the 23-year-old: ‘Tyler Adams has been outstanding at the World Cup. If he finishes the Premier League season the way he started it, he’ll be off to a top level Champions League team. What a player’.

TIF’s view on Holden’s comments…

We believe that Adams does certainly look like a player with a lot of potential. He’s certainly key for Leeds and the USMNT when it comes to his tackling and blocking especially.

The midfielder is in the top 96 percentile for blocks and top 91 for tackles, via FBref. Considering his age, Adams could well be a top talent in the future.

Furthermore, he’s already a well-travelled man for someone who’s relatively young. Adams has experience playing in the MLS, Bundesliga and the Premier League, at club level. Internationally, he’s played in the World Cup, World Cup qualifiers and the CONCACAF Nations League.

Leeds are currently only two points above the relegation zone, so they’re fighting for Premier League survival. Adams has been a key player for Marsch’s side so far, Sofascore has him as the Whites’ fifth-based player based on average ratings at 6.92. So, he’ll be hoping he can continue that form and keep them up for another season.
