Fulham winger Dan James stated that he was ‘gutted’ after their 2-1 loss to Manchester United, as he took to Instagram to have his say on the clash at Craven Cottage.

Christian Eriksen opened the scoring for the Red Devils, but in the 61st minute, James would net the equaliser to put Fulham back on level terms.

However, it would finish 2-1 to Man United, thanks to late winner from Alejandro Garnacho. Considering it was right at the death, some Fulham fans will feel hard done by, as they were so close to getting a point from Erik ten Hag’s side.

James took to his Instagram account to express his feelings on the match and thanked the fans for their support.

He wrote: “Gutted not to get anything out of the game today! Thanks for all your support, see you after the break.”

TIF Thoughts on James’ post…

It’s nice to see James acknowledge the support of the Fulham faithful after a painful loss. They’ve had an impressive campaign thus far, which sees them 9th in the league and only two points behind Chelsea.

We totally understand the disappointment he has for the result, as it’s never easy conceding so late on in the game. However, James can hold his head high – he was very effective and his goal came two minutes after coming on.

Sofascore gave him a 7.2 rating, and when you consider he came on with just over 30 minutes to go, that’s very impressive.

James was called up to the Wales squad that will travel to Qatar for the World Cup. So his focus for the next month or so will be progressing out of the group stage and beyond. They’ll hope that they can defeat rivals England along the way, too.
