Everton youngster Isaac Price impressed with a ‘composed’ performance in their 5-1 friendly win against Western Sydney Wanderers.

Joe Thomas of the Liverpool Echo, gave Price an ‘8’ rating. He’s has only featured once in the Premier League, which was in the 2021/22 campaign.

He’s only 19-years-old, so we could be seeing a lot more of him in a Toffees shirt. Price typically plays as a central-midfielder, but has played a fair few matches slightly deeper as a holding midfielder.

Currently, the midfielder is part of Everton’s under-21s side. This season, Price has 5 goal contributions from 11 appearances in the Premier League 2.

The fact that he’s been given game-time in these friendly matches shows his career is moving in the right direction thus far. Lampard praised Price for his shift against Celtic in their last friendly.

Here’s what Thomas had to say about Price against Western Sydney Wanderers, ‘Isaac Price 8

‘Another composed – and combative – performance from the young central midfielder, who has probably had the best individual boost from this trip within the Everton squad.’

TIF’s view on Thomas’ comments…

We believe that after two impressive performances for Everton, Price has given Lampard something to think about. Perhaps the Toffees boss will introduce him into some Premier League matchday squads.

However, it’s still very early days in his career and he’s only 19-years-old. One option that the club could explore is to loan him out to another team in January.

A club in the Football League could well take a chance on loaning Price for the second-half of the season. Getting him some consistent first-team minutes could help develop the youngster.

Price has taken the opportunity that has come to him with both hands. After a poor season so far, Lampard has some positive things to think about going forward with Everton.
