Sky Sports contributor Zac Djellab has expressed his excitement online after seeing footage of talented Chelsea youngster Tudor Mendel-Idowu.
With the 2022 Qatar World Cup now upon us all, most of the focus of the footballing world will be on the stars who have travelled to take part in the tournament.
Of course, though, for the next generation, life will continue back at home as they look to develop their game with the hope of making a name for themselves in the future.
One such player will be 17-year-old Mendel-Idowu who plays in the Chelsea academy. It seems as though the teenager is one to keep an eye out for if his highlights reel is anything to go by.
Indeed, Djellab took to Twitter to share a video of some of the youngster’s most eye-catching skills, while he also wrote: “Some of the skills done in this video should be illegal.”
Will Tudor Mendel-Idowu make it at Chelsea?
TIF thoughts on Tudor Mendel-Idowu and Chelsea…
This season, Mendel-Idowu has mainly played in the U18 Premier League for the Blues as well as taking part in the UEFA Youth League, playing either on the right wing or as an attacking midfielder (via Transfermarkt).
On the official Chelsea website, he is described as a ‘talented left-footed attacking player’ and they also note his goalscoring ability and ‘great dribbling’ skills – which are highlighted in the video Djellab shared.
Seeing as he is still so young, Mendel-Idowu is yet to play for the club at senior level but if he keeps continuing with his progression, Graham Potter could call upon him in the not-too-distant future.
