Arsenal are now expected to capitalise on their promising start to the 2022/23 campaign in the January transfer window.

This is according to journalist Ryan Taylor, who has been speaking about the Gunners’ plans for the winter market.

Mikel Arteta was certainly backed over the summer transfer window, with big additions such as Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko.

However, the Gunners were not quite up there with the league’s top spenders, showing how Edu operated efficiently in the window to pinpoint their specific needs.

But it seems as if January could be a big month at the Emirates Stadium, with Taylor believing those at the club are expecting deals to be made.

He said: “I think one of the clubs you’ll see most active, actually, is Arsenal, because the feeling I kind of get from those that I speak to at Arsenal is they want to capitalise on their situation.”

TIF Thoughts on Taylor’s comments…

This will obviously come as music to the ears of all Arsenal fans, who will now be dreaming of a serious title charge going into the remainder of the season.

There have been very few weak spots on display from Arteta’s side, who sit at the top of the table amid the World Cup break with a five-point gap to their nearest rivals.

So why couldn’t Arsenal put in a serious title charge if they strengthen their options over the month of January?

And adding to this, following frustration amongst the fans not too long ago, if the owners are to continue backing Arteta in the market, it will only boost the rapport between the board and the supporters.
