Bayern Munich are working behind the scenes at pulling off a huge move for Harry Kane.

The Englishman has been close to leaving his current club for several years now, but it seems that concrete interest from Germany is set to finally enter the fray.

With a Robert Lewandowski-sized hole to fill in Bavaria, the obvious choice to replace a world-class striker is like-for-like, and with Kane reportedly set to debate his future again after the World Cup, it could be Bayern’s turn to push, according to journalist Florian Plettenberg.

He recently wrote on Twitter: “Bayern still working on it in the background! But the bosses are sceptical whether this massive deal can be realised. Price tag could be around €80-100m! At this stage no development. Kane will take a decision about his future after the World Cup.”

TIF Thoughts on Kane to Bayern…

The 29-year-old is arriving at the time in his goal-laden career where he must choose between guaranteed trophies that his ability yearns for, or remaining part of the Spurs project and hope to finish his career with them on a high.

With an incredible haul of 261 goals in 408 appearances for the Lilywhites, Kane is on the path to also become the Premier League’s all-time top goalscorer, whilst being only three goals off becoming England’s most prolific marksman.

Via FBref, he’s in the top 6% for progressive passes amongst forwards and in the top 9% for shot-creating actions and expected assists, showing his skill set goes far beyond just goalscoring.

The opportunity for him to link up with the plethora of attacking options the Bundesliga champions possess will be a frightening thought all around Europe and this latest claim could be a sign that Bayern could yet be a viable destination in the near future.
