Michael Beale has taken to social media to clarify his comments after he claimed there was ‘no chance’ he would join Aston Villa despite links to the vacant manager position.

Steven Gerrard was recently sacked from his role with the Premier League club and so a number of new names have already been linked as potential replacements.

Queens Park Rangers boss Beale is one such person to have been touted with the job, but when asked on talkSPORT about the possibility of him joining Aston Villa, he simply said: “No chance.”

Evidently concerned by how this flat-out refusal may have come across, the QPR man then took to Twitter to further explain himself and the reason for his blunt rejection.

He wrote: “To clarify. AVFC is a wonderful club, I enjoyed my time there & wish them every success in the future. The players/staff were a pleasure to work with. The “no chance” comment was in reference to my commitment to QPR and was in no way being disrespectful to anyone at Villa Park.”

TIF thoughts on Michael Beale and Villa….

Beale, who has been hailed as a ‘special’ manager, only moved to Loftus Road in the summer, having previously worked at Villa as assistant head coach for Gerrard. Seeing as he has QPR challenging for promotion and possibly even a title in the Championship, it’s fair to say he’s done a good job so far.

And so, considering his current coaching success, and those recent links with the Villans, it’s not hard to see why he was one of the first names linked with the Premier League job.

However, it looks as though Aston Villa will have to look elsewhere in their search for a new boss. And that may be complicated, seeing as the likes of Thomas Tuchel and Mauricio Pochettino have also already ruled themselves out.
