Rangers have been urged by Alan Hutton to consider a potential takeover offer which may come in amid recent reports.

The former Scotland defender has been speaking to Football Insider about the Ibrox side’s future ahead of the return from the international break.

It has been reported a bid is being fronted by an American, Kyle Fox, who is interested in acquiring at least 75% of the Ibrox club with the share valued at £108m.

But there has been a lot of controversy over this potential move with The Sun claiming the club are set to sue the American over her attempts to flog the club.

Despite the issues, Hutton believes the Gers board will find the right resolution in the best interest of the club with Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s men sitting jus two points off the top of the table:

“After everything they’ve been through in the past I don’t think they would want one person with sole control of the club,” said Hutton.

“I think the direction they’re going in at this moment in time suits them. But at the end of the day money talks. If somebody came in with a ridiculous offer I’m pretty sure they would think about it.

“When you look at all the people in charge at this moment in time, they look like a good group. They look like they’re progressing in a good way moving forward so I don’t think there’s any real need to upset that at this moment.

“But, like I said I think they’ll take everything in, whether it be people trying to buy the club or whatever, and they’ll look at it and take it from there. At this moment in time I think it looks good though.“

TIF Thoughts on Hutton’s comments…

It will certainly be interesting to see how this pans out with Fox reportedly willing to inject a lot of cash into the side if the bid is to be successful.

Reports suggest Fox has claimed around £75m would be pumped into the club over a five-year period, but the club are said to have rejected this offer back in July.

As Hutton mentioned, we are sure the board will do what is in the best interest of the club but these type of figures will certainly attract the attention of a lot of Rangers fans.
