Simon Jordan has admitted on TalkSport that he can’t see Giovanni van Bronckhorst lasting much longer at Rangers.

The Rangers boss, along with his players, were booed off at Ibrox last week against Championship side Dundee in the Scottish Cup despite winning the game, which goes to show just how much unrest there is between the fans and the team.

Yet another damning defeat in the Champions League last night will have done nothing to help Van Bronckhorst’s image and reputation in Glasgow as Rangers were hammered 3-0 against Napoli, making it 19 goals shipped and one scored in the group stages of this year’s competition.

Jordan has claimed live on TalkSport that he can’t see the Dutch boss lasting much longer unless a miraculous upturn in form comes about.

He said: “I just felt that when you saw some of the games that really matter to the Rangers fans – the drubbings, the beatings they’ve got at the hands of Celtic, in games where sometimes it’s not about tactics, it’s about making sure your players are able to compete in these games to overcome the opposition – he’s really left himself wide open to criticism.

“I’d be surprised, if there’s not a massive sea change in their league form and they get results against Celtic when they’re playing next, if he’s still in situ when the year turns over.”

TIF Thoughts on Van Bronckhorst’s future…

It’s no surprise that Van Bronckhorst’s future is now being discussed given they lost out on the title to Celtic last season, the batterings they’ve taken during his tenure in Old Firm games and the embarrassment they’ve served up in the Champions League.

As things stand, Rangers have next to no chance of securing a spot in the Europa League after Christmas and are four points behind the league leaders, meaning that their season is in real danger of petering out already.

How well do you remember where Rangers' signings came in from down the years? Take our quiz to find out! First up, Carlos Pena was the Gers' most expensive arrival during the summer of 2017, but where did he join from?

Van Bronckhorst will be hoping that the winter break will allow him time to work with his players and drill in some new tactics and styles of play to launch an assault on the league in the second half of the campaign, but it does seem difficult to see him lasting much longer at Ibrox given their recent poor run of form.
