Rangers Review writer Jonny McFarlane has called for a front three of Fashion Sakala, Alfredo Morelos and Kemar Roofe to start on Wednesday night.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side are in action in the quarter-finals of the Premier Sports Cup against Dundee this midweek with the manager likely to shuffle his pack amid a busy schedule.

Morelos is expected to come into the side in place of first-choice striker Antonio Colak while an injury return could allow for Sakala to move over to the left with Ryan Kent currently out of sorts.

Roofe looks to have recovered having not yet featured this season and in their predicted XI, Rangers Review have placed the Jamaican on the right flank.

Taking to Twitter McFarlane posted: ‘A front three of Sakala, Roofe and Morelos is full of attacking possibility and bursting with threat – and goals!’

TIF Thoughts on McFarlane’s comments…

Do Rangers need to spend in the January window?

Sakala has been praised in recent weeks for his ‘unpredictable and effective’ style which saw him warrant a place in the starting line-up against Liverpool at Ibrox last week.

He was left on the bench for Motherwell at the weekend, suggesting he could take part in midweek.

Despite finding himself behind Colak in the pecking order Morelos has failed to go away and has scored two goals and one assist in just over 300 minutes of action this season, highlighting his threat.

Adding a man in Roofe who was involved in 18 goals in just over 1800 minutes of action certainly brings a guarantee of goals but it will be interesting to see who Van Bronckhorst selects as the Gers seek to make the semi-finals.
