Journalist Mark Guidi has launched a scathing rant of the Rangers team and Ryan Kent in particular following recent performances.

The Gers got back on the winning trail on Sunday evening following humiliation in the Champions League last week.

Malik Tillman and John Lundstram scored in the second half as Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side overcame Motherwell in a far-from-routine 2-1 victory.

It comes after the recent 7-1 drubbing at the hands of Liverpool in Europe only increasing the pressure on the manager.

However, when asked about GVB on the GO Radio Football Show Guidi said:

(41:22)”It’s up to the players as well to show some leadership to show some proper qualities of playing for Rangers.

“Ryan Kent, I wouldn’t have him in the Rangers team now. He’s a passenger.

He later goes on to say:

“But you look through that Rangers team, yeah the manager carries a can but the players should be ashamed of themselves as well for some of the performances in a Rangers’ jersey this season.”

How well do you remember where Rangers' signings came in from down the years? Take our quiz to find out! First up, Carlos Pena was the Gers' most expensive arrival during the summer of 2017, but where did he join from?

The winger has been urged by his manager to “bring more” in games already this season but the 25-year-old really seems out of sorts.

Despite being directly involved in five goals across eight Scottish Premiership appearances Kent has come in for criticism from Frank McAvennie who has questioned his attitude.

According to Football Insider, Kent has rejected a new contract offer with the Bears and an issue behind the scenes could well be affecting his form.

With his contract expiring at the end of the season, the club would unable to command much of a transfer fee in January but if his problems persist Ross Wilson may be tempted to listen to offers when the market reopens.
