Celtic wide-man Sead Hakšabanovic has claimed he is “in love” with the football club after the side’s 2-0 defeat to RB Leipzig in the Champions League on Tuesday.

The 23-year-old revealed this by posting on Instagram in the wake of their defeat at the hands of the Bundesliga side.

Hakšabanovic played for 66 minutes on Tuesday night, with defeat for Ange Postecoglou’s side ruling out any chance of progression into the knockout stages this season.

The 28-time Montenegro international arrived at Celtic Park from Rubin Kazan for a reported fee of £5.4m and will be hoping that he has plenty more opportunities in Europe during his time in Scotland.

And it’s clear to see that Hakšabanovic doesn’t plan on feeling sorry for himself following the midweek defeat as he stated that the team are prepared to “fight” to get back on track.

He wrote: “In love with this club, special night starting my first game in front of our fans, y’all made it to a dream come true even though the result is not what we wanted but we are gonna fight like nothing else, let’s keep our heads up and keep going.”

TIF Thoughts on Hakšabanovic’s post…

We think that it certainly represents a positive mindset to see a young player so determined to get back on track after what must have been a particularly difficult night for Celtic’s players and supporters.

However, Celtic fans will be desperate to see the winger begin to contribute to the side’s attacking play in the very near future, with the Montenegrin yet to produce a goal or assist for the Glasgow giants this season, according to Transfermarkt.

Therefore, we expect that Hakšabanovic’s determination will see him start to improve on his own performances on the pitch, so perhaps his first start at Celtic Park will see him pick up more in the coming weeks under Postecoglou.
