BBC pundit and former player Pat Bonner has been blown away by the impressive display of Celtic defender Greg Taylor in the club’s most recent match.

In their Scottish Premiership fixture, the Bhoys took on Livingston away from home as they aimed to keep themselves clear at the top of the league table.

Celtic got off to a great start to when Kyogo Furuhashi fired his side into the lead with an emphatic finish after being set up well by a great pass from Taylor.

The left-back then followed up his assist with an absolutely stunning strike in the second half as he managed to nutmeg the opposition goalkeeper from outside the box with his powerful drive.

In reaction to the goal, Bonner told BBC Sport: “He’s picking up that position again, Greg Taylor. Strikes it low through a crowd of players, and it goes through the keeper’s legs He’s been one of Celtic’s best players this season.”

TIF thoughts on Greg Taylor and Celtic…

It seems as though wasn’t the only one to be blown away by Taylor and his performance. Indeed, YouTuber Ryan Fitzsimons took to Twitter to suggest that the defender ‘might actually be the best player on earth.’

On top of that, digital journalist @CraigCelt asserted that Celtic ‘already have’ their ‘player of the year’ after the recent impressive displays from the club’s left-back.

Taylor played a huge role in the win on Sunday with a staggering 141 touches of the ball as well as 85 successful passes (via SofaScore).

Incidentally, Taylor had only scored once for the Bhoys this season and that came in his last league outing as he netted against Hearts. Evidently, he’s now got a taste for the attacking side of the game, adding to his tally in this match against Livingston.
