Journalist Matthew Fulton has slammed Celtic forward James Forrest after his underwhelming display in the club’s most recent match.

On Sunday lunchtime, Ange Postecoglou’s men travelled away from home in the Scottish Premiership to take on Livingston in search of all three points.

The Bhoys were fired into an early lead too when Kyogo Furuhashi took his chance in ruthless fashion. In the second half, Greg Taylor then doubled the Celtic score.

Giorgos Giakoumakis missed a penalty late on, but it wasn’t enough to change the course of the game as the Jota scored shortly after to seal a comfortable 3-0 victory.

Despite the three points, not everyone impressed. Indeed, in the player ratings for the Scottish Daily Express, Fulton handed Forrest a 6/10 for his efforts.

The journalist said: “Looked up for it and went close in the first half, his deliveries left a little to be desired. Got all tangled up for a good chance.”

TIF thoughts on James Forrest and Celtic…

The stats don’t look too good for Forrest either. Indeed, according to SofaScore, despite starting the game, he managed just 34 touches before being subbed in the 67th minute.

On top of that, he completed one out of three dribbles, succeded with none of his three attempted crosses, had two shots off target, lost possession 1o times, and was caught offside once.

It was a disappointing outing for the winger especially when his fine form of late would have had fans expecting big things.  Indeed, Forest came into the match having scored four goals in his previous two league games coming into this match.

Regardless of it all, though, the Hoops will be delighted to end the week four points clear at the top of the league table.
