Journalist Craig Finn has dubbed Celtic midfielder Aaron Mooy as part of the club’s ‘folklore’ after he knocked over referee Willie Collum in the club’s last game.

On Sunday lunchtime, Ange Postecoglou’s men faced a potentially tricky opponent as they travelled to Livingston in the Scottish Premiership.

However, in the end, the match turned out to be fairly simple, as goals from Kyogo Furuhashi, Greg Taylor and Jota handed Ange Postecoglou’s men a 3-0 victory on the road.

But beyond those important three points for Celtic, one incident occurred that seemed to spark much joy for Finn and perhaps many other football fans.

Indeed, during the first half, Mooy accidentally knocked over referee Collum – as seen in the image below – and the journalist took great delight in it.

Finn took to Twitter to share footage of the moment, writing: “And with that, Aaron Mooy has [written] himself into Celtic folklore.”

On top of that moment, it was a pretty good day at the office for the Australian midfielder, who was making just his fourth league start for the Bhoys.

According to SofaScore, Mooy made three key passes and completed 87% of his passes, as well as making one tackle and one clearance within his 83 touches of the ball.

While Mooy only joined in the summer, moments like this will surely help the new man win over fans if he can continue having enjoyable afternoons such as the one he delivered this weekend on top of his all-round performances.
