Nathan Judah has said that Ruben Neves looked ‘deranged’ following his goal for Wolves on Saturday.

The Portuguese midfielder was on hand to quickly reply for the visitors as they fell behind in the second half against Brentford.

Following a terrific opener from Ben Mee the Old Gold responded through a trademark Neves strike from the edge of the area.

It sparked rapturous scenes in the away end with the club captain visibly buoyant also.

As posted on the Express and Star YouTube channel, Liam Keen said:

Will Wolves be relegated?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

“That connection we’re talking about between the fans and the players that was evident and on show when they all charged over to that away end and all piled on Neves and then the pictures of Neves’ celebration, how angry he was.

Judah then stepped in to say: “Angry, literally angry. He was like, deranged.”

Test your knowledge on Wolves' managerial candidates! First up: in what year did Sevilla manager Julen Lopetegui almost take the Wolves hotseat?

The celebrations certainly reflected how big a moment that was for the Midlanders as they look to climb out of the bottom three.

They are now two points off Southampton and Neves has been shouldering most of the burden.

He has scored three times this season with two coming across the last four game weeks.

Wolves have picked up five points in the fixtures in which he has netted and he is now the club’s outright leading scorer this season.

According to WhoScored, the 25-year-old is the side’s highest-performing player with a 7.06 average match rating.

His anger is being channelled in the right way and his desire was a major contributing factor to Steve Davis’ team taking something from the game.
