Nayef Aguerd has been spotted training with the rest of his West Ham teammates ahead of their upcoming Europa Conference League fixture.

The 26-year-old was signed for £30m in the summer but is yet to make his competitive debut for the club.

He hobbled off in a pre-season friendly against Rangers back in July and had to undergo ankle surgery as a result.

However, taking to social media last week the Moroccan centre-back posted a picture of himself entitled ‘happy to be back on the pitch’.

Now his return to action seems imminent after Roshane Thomas’ update on Twitter.

He uploaded a video of the Hammers players training at Rush Green and captioned it:

Open training session at Rush Green. Nayef Aguerd and Lucas Paqueta training with the main group.’

Injury expert Ben Dinnery had previously claimed that the 25-cap titan would be in contention for a return to action sometime this month.

Speaking in his press conference on Wednesday David Moyes said that the ex-Rennes man could be in contention for the visit of Silkeborg.

It will come as a huge boost to the Scottish manager with his side only keeping five clean sheets in 18 games across all competitions.

The 6 ft 1 towering defender was instrumental in Rennes finishing fourth in Ligue 1 last season and posting a 7.05 average match rating (SofaScore).

Only Jarrod Bowen (7.09) and Declan Rice (7.19) had a higher average at the Irons last term and it will be interesting to see how he is integrated into the side in the coming weeks.
