Presenter ExWHUemployee has revealed that West Ham United defender Arthur Masuaku has been told he is ‘surplus to requirements’.

The 28-year-old, currently out on loan with Turkish outfit Besiktas on an initial 12-month deal, appears as though he won’t be returning to the Hammers with there being a view to a permanent deal.

Masuaku seems to be enjoying life for his new side, having started all nine of their Super Lig fixtures so far this season – which is fortunate for the DR Congo international, as it sounds as if he doesn’t have much of a future at West Ham.

Indeed, if the latest claims are to be believed, the left-sided defender has played his last game for David Moyes’ men and will be leaving permanently next summer.

While speaking on The West Ham Way podcast, Ex explained as much, saying: “He’s been told he’s surplus to requirements at West Ham now.

“So I’d imagine that he will complete a permanent move to [Besiktas] at the end of the season. If he doesn’t go to them, then there’ll be other clubs that will take him.

“So I think it’s probably fair to say we’ve seen Masuaku’s last game in West Ham colours.”
