Presenter ExWHUemployee has revealed that West Ham United defender Ben Johnson is ‘fully available for selection’ to play in the club’s next game.
This weekend, the Hammers will take on Fulham at home in the Premier League as they look to improve upon what has been a slow start to the season – with just two wins from their first eight games.
What may well help West Ham in the aim to pick up all three points, is the availability of right-back Johnson who has been unfit recently and consequently been unable to play in the league for the club since the fourth game week.
Indeed, in a fresh update shared ahead of the game on The West Ham Way Patreon, Ex was able to deliver news on the positive development.
He wrote: “Ben Johnson is also fully available for selection so provides competition across the backline.”
TIF thoughts on Ben Johnson and West Ham United
Johnson had started the first two games of the Premier League season, filling it at centre-back, before then moving to right-back thus displaying his use usefulness to manager David Moyes (via Transfermarkt).
His fitness struggles since then have meant that Vladimir Coufal has largely had to play at fullback but with the club struggling for form in this period, fans will be relieved to see the young Englishman ready to be selected once more.
However, interestingly enough, in West Ham’s last game – a 2-0 win against Wolves – Thilo Kehrer was trusted at right-back over Coufal and so it will be fascinating to see whether or not Moyes mixes things up today, or if he keeps faith in the German despite his two alternative options.
