Tottenham Hotspur have been touted as a club that should be looking at acquiring the services of Crystal Palace and Ivory Coast forward Wilfried Zaha, when his contract runs out next summer.

That is according to talkSPORT pundit Gabriel Agbonlahor, who was speaking on the station on Wednesday following the previous night’s Premier League fixtures.

Zaha put in a top-class showing in Palace’s 2-1 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Tuesday evening, with the wide man scoring the winner after the Eagles had initially trailed.

The 29-year-old’s performance earned him a SofaScore rating of 7.6, having completed six out of ten attempted dribbles, and winning a combined 14 aerial and ground duels in an exceptional display.

And Agbonlahor believes that Spurs should be looking at “snapping him up” next summer, alongside London rivals Arsenal and Chelsea, with the forward available on a free if he leaves Selhurst Park at the end of his deal.

“After the game, I found out that his [Zaha’s] contract runs out next summer and he can go on a free transfer to a top club,” the former Villa striker told talkSPORT.

“I mean, if you’re an Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea, you’re snapping him up on a three-year contract at the age of 30 then, because last night he was outstanding.”

TIF Thoughts on Agbonlahor’s comments…

We agree with Agbonlahor and think that the top sides in the Premier League would be silly to not even attempt to bring Zaha to their club on a free transfer next summer, with the wide man already proving how much of an effective presence he can be in the Premier League.

The 28-time Ivory Coast winger has already scored five goals and provided one assist in just nine Premier League appearances this season according to Transfermarkt, suggesting that he should be able to adapt to moving to another top club in the same league.

We could see the Palace superstar playing a role in Antonio Conte’s front line alongside Harry Kane and Son-Heung min, with the wide-man likely to add a different creative dynamic to the club’s current frontline.

Therefore, we would be surprised if Spurs totally disregarded the prospect of snapping Zaha up next summer.
