Alasdair Gold has claimed that there’s no chance Tottenham Hotspur will be selling Son Heung-min amid recent reports.

There have been recent claims in the media about top clubs starting to take a look at Son with a view to signing the South Korean international, despite him having hit a poor run of form this season with just three goals in 12 league appearances, and they all arrived in one game.

If Son was to leave then he would command a big fee given he only signed a new contract in the summer of 2021 and is Spurs’ second-most important player, only behind goal machine Harry Kane, so if he was to be sold then it would leave a major hole in Antonio Conte’s side.

However, Gold has now revealed on his YouTube channel that Spurs have not the slightest bit of interest in selling Son anytime soon.

Are you worried about Son's future?

No!

(33:50) “From everything I’m being told by everyone within the club, they’re just kind of laughing whenever there’s a link to Son being away because I just keep getting told by everyone that he’s very happy and only signed a new contract, was it last summer? Not this summer but the one before and the club have absolutely zero intention of selling Son anywhere.”

TIF Thoughts on the Son links…

It won’t come as much of a surprise to anyone that Spurs have absolutely no intention of selling one of their best players, especially given they are sitting third in the Premier League and looking to build something special under serial winner Conte.

However, if Tottenham fail to qualify for the Champions League this season and don’t seriously challenge for silverware then the South Korean international could well begin to evaluate his options long-term.

This is because during his career thus far, Son is yet to lift a single piece of meaningful silverware for a club side, and much like his teammate Harry Kane, he will likely be wanting to ensure that doesn’t remain the same before he retries, so Spurs will have to ensure they keep up with Son’s ambitions and progress.
